Who can apply?

Anyone is welcome to apply, however …

1. You must have a social security number.

How applicants are selected:

1. The nursing program accepts applications only once a year. Each Fall, 40 applicants are selected.
2. 申请从11月1日开始，到1月31日结束.
3. Applicants not selected may reapply the following year. There is no waiting list.
4. Chabot College uses a “merit based” system. The Criterion Worksheet (subject to be updated) 是基于以下7个类别的100分制，要求提供所有证明文件:

Admission Requirements

1. SCIENCE PREREQUISITES

2. FIXED COURSES完成夏博学院相当于以下“固定课程”的课程:

English 1 or 1A: English Composition
Sociology 1: Introduction to Sociology
Psychology 1: Introduction to Psychology
传播学1或10:公众演讲或人际沟通

The following criteria applies to the Fixed Courses:

1.  Each course must have a grade of “C” or higher.
2.  “固定课程”必须在申请年度之前的秋季完成. 这意味着成绩必须在申请时出现在正式成绩单上. In progress grades are not accepted.

3. TEAS Testing

1. Pass the TEAS at Adjusted Individual Score of 62% or higher.
2. An unofficial copy must be submitted with your application. If admitted, official 必须提交ATI测试的测试结果，除非在查伯特学院进行测试.

4. Attend a mandatory Nursing Program Information Meeting. Proof of attendance is required with application materials.

Additional Resources

• Comparable course from U.S. Regionally Accredited Colleges/Universities are accepted. Check the equivalency chart or see a counselor.

After-admission requirements

所有被录取(选定)的学生必须完成以下内容:

1. 在每门护理课程中保持75%以上的C级 the program and for an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing.
2. Submit a background check using a social security number; all students must have a social security card. A 7年重罪/轻罪刑事定罪背景调查是医院/诊所 requirement for all students.
3. Submit a urine drug screening test. All students are required to have ‘clear’ drug screen prior to program admittance. Positive results on any non-prescription drug will result in dismissal from the program. Additional information is available in the Background Checks for Student Clinical Placement document.
4. Students are required to be current on their immunizations. Titer reports for MMR, Varicella, and Hep B are required. Annual Flu and a Covid Vaccine will be required and, in addition, students must complete TB testing (QuantiFERON-TB Gold and/or chest X-ray + Symptom Review Form), have a current TdaP and complete an N95 Mask fit test. If you are enrolled at Chabot check out CDC immunizations. Information about PPD and other requirements are on the Chabot College Health Center website. 
   
   

Cost

Students are responsible for:

1. Program cost – approximately $8,000-$8,500

3. NCLEX-RN licensure exam fees – approximately $500. Will include extra fees.

How to Apply to the Nursing Program

1. Apply to Chabot College.

3. Apply to the Nursing Program on CLASS-Web from November through January each year. Check the calendar for specific dates.
